Right before our eyes – ok, it has been more than a decade – Haley Pullos has grown into a beautiful 22 year old solid actress. A comforting presence on General Hospital since 2009, her take as Molly has been someone very special to watch, and recently her sensational acting has made it impossible to look away.
How have you held up during Covid-19?
Haley: I’ve had my ups and downs during all this for sure, as most people probably have. I mean, it’s just a weird, difficult, scary time for everyone! But I’ve been doing my best to stay sane – I’m lucky enough to have a beautiful pool that I’m in almost every day so that helps!
Is there anything positive that has come out of these past few months?
Haley: Yeah! Some possible new projects in the works for me – it’s all exciting.
What was the worst part of this missed summer?
Haley: Definitely all the traveling I wanted to do. I’ve never really traveled a whole lot, and right at the end of last year, I decided ‘Okay, 2020 is the year I’m finally just gonna explore as much as possible!’ Well, the universe laughed at that one.
What are you most looking forward to when things get back to 100% normal?
Haley: Going out with friends! Brunch! Casual hangs! Beach days without crippling anxiety over catching COVID!
But what if this truly is the new normal for 10 or 20 years?
Haley: Honestly, half of me believes that that will be the case and the other half desperately doesn’t want it to be true. Especially since my niece just turned two – happy birthday, Hannah – I really hope she’s able to grow up in a more normal world. I just hope we can all stick together, not literally six feet apart, through this and do our part. Wear a mask! Socially distance!
And you were thrilled to be back on set at General Hospital?
Haley: Oh, so thrilled. I’m pretty sure I cried a little when I got my first date to go back. My work is definitely my favorite thing to do in the world, so it was really tough going without it for so many months!
Is it fun having always been a part of a super star family in Port Charles – Alexis, Sam and Kristina?
Haley: Definitely! I love being part of a family made up of strong women. The Davis Girls are fierce and would do absolutely anything for each other.
Of course we saw Molly grow up right in front of us, so some people were more than shocked when she suddenly, um, met Brando……that was a fun GH moment for you?
Haley: That was so much fun! It was so different from Molly’s usual MO. I loved getting to play a little tiny bit of a ‘Bad Molly.’ It was time for her to slip up a little!
The actor, Johnny Wactor, is really good and great with you.
Haley: He’s awesome! He’s super easy to work with, always fun and lighthearted but professional.
It’s exciting to have such an adult storyline after all these years?
Haley: It’s really exciting! I feel like I’m finally one of the grown ups!
You’re a real success story and it would be great for you to move into full time storyline!
Haley: Nothing would make me happier!! I would love love love to have a big, full time storyline. GH is my home, I’ll spend every day there.
During all the under-used GH years, you’ve accumulated quite a resume elsewhere – what has been your favorite role?
Haley: One of my absolute favorites is Bella from The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia. She was so fun and over the top! From the way she dressed to the words she said, she was a wild character to play. I had so much fun with her.
Is there any place you’ve always wanted to visit, but haven’t?
Haley: Anywhere in Europe!!! I’m really hoping to go next year, if the universe cooperates. My dream vacation spot when I was little was Paris, but now I’d be happy to go literally anywhere.
What do you miss more, live sporting events or go to movie theaters?
Haley: I am not a sports girl at all so definitely movie theaters. They were always so fun! And when the movie was over and you were walking out, you always got that weird feeling like you just came out of a time warp. That’s, like, almost the best part.
What brand names are you most loyal to?
Haley: I’ve honestly never been much of a clothing brand name person, but I am very loyal to the skincare brands that I like! Right now, I use Nola Skinsentials. They’re a Black-owned small business and all their products are handmade, vegan, and cruelty free. I’m a huge organic skincare nerd!
What was your first childhood brawl about?
Haley: I don’t think I’ve ever been in a brawl… Except maybe joking with my siblings but nothing ever too crazy. I am a very little, very fragile human!
What is the greatest indulgence you allow yourself?
Haley: Other than always eating, I watch a lot of cooking shows. Which is probably why I’m always eating. But I just love watching them, especially anything Gordon Ramsay does!
What movie do you never get tired of?
Haley: Closer! It’s my absolute favorite and I could watch it forever.
What movie should definitely have a sequel – starring you?
Haley: Either Gone Girl or Girl, Interrupted. Both are kinda dark and twisted, which is always fun.
What’s the last song you caught yourself singing………in the shower?
Haley: Oh gosh, probably God Is A Woman by Ariana! Or really anything by Ariana, honestly. You gotta belt those high notes in the shower, that’s where the best acoustics are!
What makes you laugh?
Haley: I can laugh at anything and anyone. I’m a very giggly person. But only if I’m comfortable with you! Otherwise, I’m pretty shy.
You get one phone call – who is it to?
Haley: That really depends on the situation! Am I in trouble? Probably my dad. Am I sad? Probably my sister, Kathleen, or my best friend, Eleana. Am I happy and have good news to share? Probably my mom.
What is the biggest event you’ve attended?
Haley: I think the Daytime Emmys wins that award!
What movie star would you love to star opposite of right now – what kind of movie would it be?
Haley: Honestly, I’ve always really loved Natalie Portman, so doing anything with her would be amazing.
What quality do you like in a friend?
Haley: Empathy! I’m a cancer so I’m super emotional, and I definitely need friends who understand that part of me.
What do you think is your best quality?
Haley: Either empathy or loyalty. I’m so empathic that I can very easily take on other people’s emotions. And I’m loyal almost to a fault.
