PETER BERGMAN OF THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: IN HIS OWN WORDS!

One of the most celebrated actors in the history of daytime television, Peter Bergman was first a soap opera sensation as Dr. Cliff Warner on the hit drama All My Children — winning a Daytime Emmy for his efforts, in both 1991 and 1992 (having been nominated nine other years)! Been there, done that, Peter then moved from New York City to Los Angeles, and into the role of Jack Abbott, on The Young and the Restless. Wasting no time with the adjustment, he was immediately nominated for three more Daytime Emmys — and he won the Daytime Emmy again in 2002. Since then, Peter has been nominated for eight more — for an unbelievable total of 22
    times!

On a personal note, Peter has been married to lovely Mariellen for 35 years. The couple have two children, Claire and Connor, and Peter couldn’t be more proud to be their father. Peter Bergman, in his own words……..

The most amazing thing about being a father is how the job keeps changing. You start out protecting a defenseless baby, then you start to teach your toddlers. You watch them grow and you learn to listen as they shape their own priorities. Then you cheer them on as they learn to drive and build a life outside of home. Then you’re dropping them off at college and waiting for their phone calls. And, before you know it, they are building their lives and careers and you start learning more from them than you could ever teach. I loved every stage. But I truly love this latest stage — listening, laughing and learning with these extraordinary people that grew up in your home.
